Dying to be Thin (A Fat City Mystery) by Kathryn Lilley

“In just a week, plus-sized TV producer Kate Gallagher has been laid off because of her weight and dumped by her boyfriend. So she enrolls in a weight loss clinic in Durham, NC. Soon, Kate’s ready to sell her soul for some sweets. But when a diet guru turns up dead with fondue forks where his eyes were, Kate loses her appetite-and has a breaking story on her hands…”

Really enjoyable book – the 1st in the Fat City Mystery series. I definitely am looking forward to more in this series! Recommended!

  1. I actually didn't finish that one… I don't know if it was just the mood I was in (could be) but I didn't like the main character and thought it was a little weird and gory for a cozy. The fork through the eyeballs was a little much, lol!

  2. Jenny – I thought the same thing when I was reading it. It didn’t feel like a cozy to me either. I still liked the book, but it was a bit too graphic for what I know a cozy to be!

  3. Maybe if I had gone into it knowing that I would have liked it better… it's not like I stay away from other gory books, lol!
