“Isabella Swan’s move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife-between desire and danger.Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.”
MY REVIEW:
I feel like I’m one of the last people to read this book! I normally do not read paranormal-type books with vampires, but I’ve had so many people recommend this book to me that I just had to give it a go. I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed. The first half of the book really dragged on for me, though. I kept waiting for something to happen. It was just page after page of dialogue between the two main characters, Bella and Edward, and learning about Edward’s life as a vampire. It was interesting to hear his back story, but I wanted the story to hurry up a bit! Finally, about halfway through, things started to pick up and I couldn’t put the book down! I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series.
If you are like me and do not normally read these types of books, I would recommend that you at least read the first in the series. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It’s really a love story between a normal human, Bella, and Edward, the vampire. Definitely different from my normal reading style, but very enjoyable!
Recommended!!

This is definitely not my type of read either but I enjoyed the whole series. (well, the last one not as much, but I'm glad I read them all)
This didn't used to be my type of book either. After reading this series, I can't seem to get enough. I know what you mean about the book being slow at first. But it really does pick up and once I finished this one, I was upset at myself for not having the second book. Great review!
I don't normally read paranormal books either. I remember when my friend recommended the book and described it as a girl falling in love with a vampire, I thought I was going to hate the book. But after fighting my way through the first half, I also couldn't put it down. I couldn't help but wonder if the first half of the book was so tedious for me because I already knew what was going to happen. Do you think all the hype about the book and even the synopsis ruined some of it for you (I certainly did). I hope you enjoy the rest of the series. I did. They all have pieces of them that are tedious and annoying, but eventually the action picks up and everything gets interesting.
