Sunday Salon – November 15, 2009

Hi readers!  This is my first Sunday Salon post!  I’ve been on a bit of a Young Adult reading kick lately.  This past week I read (and loved!) Lessons From a Deaad Girl by Jo Knowles and If I Stay by Gayle Forman.  They were both amazing books and I will definitely be looking for more by these authors.  Lessons From a Dead Girl deals with the issue of friendship abuse between peers – a very tough subject that the author dealt with masterfully.  If I Stay deals with the issue of life or death.  Both books will elicit a flood of emotions, but I would recommend them to anyone.  These are not your light and fluffy, feel-good reads.  They deal with some major life issues.

If you  have any YA suggestions, I would love to hear about them!  I recently added Wintergirls to my wish list, but I do not know of other YA books that deal with these deeper issues.  I’d love some recommendations – leave me a comment!  Thanks!

Until next time…..
Jennifer :)

I wish they had this selection of young adult books when I was actually a young adult! There are so many to read you could literally read only young adult books and still not run out of books to read!

Jenny – I know! I think I'm reading more YA books now than I did when I was a young adult! LOL Such a great selection!
