Girl meets boy.Girl loses boy.
Girl gets boy back…
…sort of.
Ava can’t see him or touch him, unless she’s dreaming. She can’t hear his voice, except for the faint whispers in her mind. Most would think she’s crazy, but she knows he’s here.
Jackson. The boy Ava thought she’d spend the rest of her life with. He’s back from the dead, as proof that love truly knows no bounds.
Ava and Jackson were meant to be together forever, until a terrible tragedy took Jackson’s life. And Ava blames herself – they shouldn’t have been there; she shouldn’t have said what she said. Ava struggles with her emotions in the wake of Jackson’s sudden death. She soon begins feeling his presence and hearing his voice. Jackson has come back from the dead – to be with Ava forever.
But as Ava continues to grieve and move on with her life, she begins to question herself and Jackson. Does love really last forever?
This is a touching, beautiful story of teenage first love…and loss. This novel is told in verse, so it’s a very quick read. I read it in just over an hour, in one sitting. Although it’s a quick read, it’s really deep and moving. I’d definitely recommend it!

This reminds me a bit of Charlie St. Cloud, a movie coming out soon. I saw a preview recently. It wasn't about losing a love, but it was romantic.
I really loved this book, Lisa is such an amazing writer, and though it's in Verse I never felt like I was missing something. Wonderful review.
i so want to get this it sounds amazing!
Thanks for the review. I'd never heard of it until now. Sounds interesting.
Ah! I've been wanting to read this book for awhile! Thanks for the review!
This sounds really interesting to me! I read Her Fearful Symmetry not that long ago, which is an adult novel about a woman who dies but lives on as a ghost and is able to interact with her lover and her nieces after she dies. It was weird but thought-provoking. It reminds me of that…but I would love to read a YA book about this topic! I'm adding it to my TBR list!
It does. In a way. Charlie St. Cloud looses his brother though.
Great combination- quick and moving. I need to read more books in verse.
I just read WISH by Alexandra Bullen, which has a really similar premise. It's about a girl who loses her sister, then wishes her back to life. I'll have to read this one and see how the two compare. Thanks for the recommendation!
