Book Blogger Hop: 6/3-6/6

Book Blogger Hop

Grab the Logo!

In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share our love of the written word!  This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books!  It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read!  So, grab the logo, post about the Hop on your blog, and start HOPPING through the list of blogs that are posted in the Linky list below!!

The Hop lasts Friday-Monday every week, so if you don’t have time to Hop today, come back later and join the fun!  This is a weekly event!  And stop back throughout the weekend to see all the new blogs that are added! We get over 200 links every week!!

RULES:

Your blog should have content related to books, including, but not limited to book reviews.

1. Post about the Hop on your blog (feel free to grab the logo at the top of the post!)

Spread the word about the book party!  The more the merrier!

In your blog post, answer the following question (new question each week!).

“Share your favorite post from the last month and tell us why it’s close to your heart!”

My answer:  My favorite post is the one I did for Armchair BEA last Friday on Blogging Insecurity.  I think we all deal with insecurity on some level in relation to our blogging, so this post is really special to me.  It got some pretty positive feedback from other bloggers so I wanted to share it again for those who may not have seen it.  I hope it will be of help to you, too!

I need more questions!!!  If you have a suggestion for a future HOP question, click here to fill out the form!  Thanks!

2.  Enter your book blog link in the Linky List below.

In your description, please state the main genre that you review – Example:  Crazy-for-Books (contemp. adult fiction)

3.  Visit other blogs in the Linky List!

Make new friends!  Follow new book bloggers!  Talk about books!  Rave about authors!  Take the time to make a quality visit!  Check out other posts and content, make a new friend!  Don’t randomly follow someone if you never intend on actually following them!  No spamming please!  (Please do not leave your link and not visit other blogs – it’s just not cool and not in the spirit of the Hop!)

***Failure to adhere to the above 3 rules may result in removal of your link from the Linky List.***

Have fun HOPPING and enjoy your BOOK PARTY weekend!!!

UPDATE #1:  THE BOOK BLOGGER HOP DOES NOT ACCEPT TWITTER LINKS!

UPDATE #2: Please do not add “AND A GIVEAWAY” to your blog hop link.

How to enter your link (things are a little different, so read this please!):

The list is RANDOMIZED! So, when you enter your link, it will appear randomly in the list! To find it on a PC, hit Ctrl-F and type the name of your blog. You can delete your own link, too, so if you mess up, just delete it and start over!

Click the blue button that says ADD YOUR LINK and type in the information below:

Til next time, stay crazy….for books, that is!

  1. Oh! Your post was lovely! I just went to read it. Sadly, I wasn’t able to finish doing the Armchair BEA due to real-life stuff.

    :D

    • Jen says:

Thanks Alex! I missed a couple of days of Armchair BEA due to real-life stuff, too! I’m glad I was able to get that last post in there!

Thanks for stopping by and joining the Hop!

  2. Alison says:

Happy weekend! I loved Armchair BEA. I hope to go to real BEA next year, but this was fun.

  4. Lah says:

I could totally see why that was your favorite post. It was really awesome. I never really thought other peeps had the same sort of insecurity that I would tend to have! Thanks for this awesome hop. You rule :)

  5. Suko says:

HI, Jennifer! I just hopped by to see the question of the week. You’ve changed your blog’s background color–it looks good. :)

  6. Mrs. Zwieg says:

    Hello! I love the post!

***Your button is not working for me. The HTML is showing up as a pinpoint…I don’t think that is right. Can you take a look and make sure the code is correct? Thank you! :)

    • Jen says:

It is hosted through Photobucket and I just checked and the image it working for me. Can you let me know if you are still having problems? If so, I’ll change to another image host. Thanks.

  7. Lah says:

By the way, I think something might be up with the code on your button. Some other bloggers and I were having trouble putting the html in on our pages.

    • Jen says:

Can you let me know if you are still having problems? I just checked and it appears to be working now. If not, I’ll change to another image host. Thanks.

  8. Hi – I posted only one of my blogs today. And posted my favorite subject instead of the exact question above. You’ll see what I mean when I get there. I hope that’s OK.

    Thanks! Tina “The Book Lady”

    • Jen says:

Very cool! I read and reviewed HOW HUGE THE NIGHT recently and loved it! It’s such a great story! I’m sure kids would find it really engaging. Great pick for summer reading!

  9. Safari Poet says:

    Just hopping by :-)
    Have a great weekend!

  10. Sarah says:

Great pick! I absolutely loved all of the Armchair BEA posts. I thought the topics they came up with were just fantastic and I really enjoyed reading everyone’s responses. I missed some on the last days and need to go back though.

But I agree, I think we all deal with insecurity when it comes to our blog. If we haven’t gotten a new follower in a while or no comments, we start to wonder what we’re doing wrong. It can be hard, but I just try to keep it about the books and about talking about books, even if I’m just talking to myself most of the time! lol

Here’s my Blog Hop and Follow Friday for this week.

    ♥ Sarah

  11. Jo says:

As always, thank you for hosting the Hop. :)

  12. Jenni Elyse says:

I just wanted to let you know that I love your new look. I know it was probably necessary with the changeover, but I think it’s really nice. :)

  13. I really liked that post, too!

And I also had trouble with the code for the Hop button. So I just copied and pasted the actual image instead of the text.

  14. Patti Smith says:

Jenn, I didn’t see the post the first time you published it, but it was so wonderful to read it now. I myself was thinking just the other day about how many posts begin with the blogger apologizing for something. I actually have a Sunday Salon started for this weekend about why bloggers feel the need to say “I’m sorry.” Like you mentioned in your tips…it’s each bloggers blog, how much you blog, what your content is, etc. reflects the blogger. PERIOD. And, that’s the way it should be. We shouldn’t have to explain anything to anyone about our blogs. If a blogger is blogging for any other reason than himself/herself and the selected content, he/she probably shouldn’t be blogging anyway. My opinion of course :)

  15. Lisa says:

I also loved your blog on insecurity. I even commented on it! It was great to read and even helped me think about getting over my insecurities.

  16. Loni says:

I’m wondering if I should move my blog too… Blogger is giving me issues again. I haven’t been able to comment on two different blogs today!
