My answer:
Depending on what type of story I’m looking for, I will say either Diane Chamberlain or James Patterson. Diane’s books always keep me riveted, frantically flipping the pages to see what’s coming next. And Patterson is my go-to for quick, fast reads with that supreme element of suspense.

  1. James Patterson is definitely a good one.  He has so many books and you know exactly what you're getting into: Fast and thrilling.

  2. I can see how JamesP could be a choice, quick and easy.  Mine would be Andrea Kane, Kristin Hannah and a Verse Novel.

  3. I recently found out that R.L. Stine has written a few adult novels that I wanted to check out. I actually forgot about them until now so I should probably make my Nook purchase before forgetting again.

As for James Patterson, I've only read "The Jester" which I hear is a stray from his usual modern thrillers. It was a quick read set during the Crusades, which I really enjoyed.

  4. Since I enjoy riveting stories, I'll have to look up Diane Chamberlain!  I have entered my post at My Bookshelf. Come on over for a visit!

  5. Another great question this week and great answers.

  7. I have some James Patterson and Diane Chamberlain on my TBR shelf.  I might have to move them up.   Take a look at my answer at http://www.pattisreadingcorner.blogspot.com

  8. James Patterson is a REALLY popular choice!  Am I the only one out there who doesn't love him?  I get the appeal, though, since his books are usually fast, exciting reads.

I don't really have reading ruts, but when I'm just in the mood for something I know I'll enjoy, I reach for new books by authors I already love, like Jodi Picoult, Adriana Trigiani, Neal Shusterman, Robyn Carr, Kathy Reichs … and the list goes on …

    Have a great weekend!
