Howdy! Welcome to my crazy corner of the world! I’m so glad you stopped by! My name is Jennifer, I live in upstate New York with my husband and three fur-kids (see them up there in my header?!). I have two miniature schnauzers and a spaniel mix. I am unable to have children, so my dogs are like my kids (as the saying goes… “My kids have four paws!”).
I love to read (obviously!) and am a bit crazy obsessive about it. I rarely go anywhere without a book in my purse (just ask my husband!). I love contemporary fiction first and foremost. I enjoy reading about strong women battling life and coming out on top. I feel like I’m doing that every day. It’s empowering. I love a character I can root for, cry with, and shake my head at. Because isn’t that who we all are, ultimately?
I enjoy posting book reviews, but I may also post stories about my life, depending on my mood. This may include my dogs, my faith, or other experiences.
I am strong in my Christian faith and may post about it from time to time. I’m on the women’s ministry leadership team at my church and I’m also an administrator of a blog for the women of my church. Additionally, I co-run a book club that meets monthly to discuss a book of faith.
Other genres I enjoy are historical fiction (especially World War II), Christian fiction, mystery/suspense, and memoir. Of course, I am very picky about what I will read within all of these genres. I don’t like paranormal, fantasy, futuristic, science fiction (aliens, fairies, space life, otherworldly, shape-shifters, werewolves, vampires, etc. or anything else like that). There are MANY bloggers who enjoy this type of book, but I am not one of them. If the book is contemporary fiction with an element of otherworldly, it’s not for me. There are always exceptions to every rule, but when submitting review requests, please make a note of this before submitting your request.
